Yuki Nishimura is working based on performance. My interest is in my ‘state of being’, my body in proximity to objects. Moreover, I am attempting to unearth the animistic potential in all ‘things’ – as being on the same level as each other, while exploring the differences between ‘being’ and ‘spirit’. This potential exists often unnoticed in daily life, but during my performance they are highlighted to explore the possibility of losing the symbolization that objects possess. Through this loss, the objects are freed of common dualistic association or classification.
